Glass beads are inseparably linked to blasting technology
Glass beads are a synthetic, fine and reusable blasting material of exceptional quality based on fused sodium silicon glass according to DIN 8201. Glass beads consist of up to 71 percent silicon, whereby, however, the silicon dioxide is chemically bound. The product, inseparably linked to blasting technology, complies with the applicable labor safety requirements according to BGR 500, part 2, chapter 2.24 „Labors with abrasive blasters (blasting work)”.
Blasting abrasive for all blasting systems
This reusable blasting abrasive is employed in stationary blasting systems, like in injector blasting cabinets by SIGG Strahltechnik. With the use of this blasting abrasive, delicate surfaces can carefully be cleaned, refined or matted. This non-ferrous blasting material is most suitable for blasting processes on high-alloyed stainless steels, special steel and NE-metals. Annealing colors can superbly be removed and all welding-seams are smoothed.
Glass beads for molds, tools, engine parts and turbine blades
Delicate surfaces of molds, tools, engine parts and turbine blades, as well as medical technology products like joints, implants or syringes can be treated with glass beads. Furthermore, it is suitable for the surface finishing of metal and glass workpieces as well as in wet-blasting processes. Ceramic beads may be considered as an alternative option in case increased stability times of the blasting material are desired. SIGG Strahltechnik offers also these in its product range.
