The blast cabin is the safe and clean workstation for all blasting technology tasks

SIGG Strahltechnik develops and manufactures blast cabins for a range of purposes

A blast cabin is normally understood to mean a blast system that can be operated by one person using a hand-held blasting device. The blast cabin surrounds the actual blast system and fulfils a number of roles:

  • Protection from noise
  • Protection from scattered blast agent
  • Protection from dust
  • Cleanliness of the workstation
  • Safety of the operator

The blast cabin is made as tight as possible against emissions. Additional extractor systems and filters also contribute towards cleanliness and protect employees from dust. The height-adjustable blast cabin is especially user-friendly: in this case, the work area can be adjusted to the operator's height, satisfying the criteria of an ergonomic workstation. The blast cabin can be equipped with the injector blast principle, as a vapour blasting system or for wet blasting methods. A transparent viewing pane gives the operator a clear view of the work area. In this case, depending on the blast cabin’s features and method use, individual workpieces can be blasted or smaller parts processed in baskets or on turntables.

The SIGG blast cabin – efficient use every day

Blast cabins from SIGG are able to handle daily stress in a modern industrial company. The basic structure is solid and space-saving. All wear parts can be easily replaced, and the original spare parts can be obtained directly from SIGG. Modern blast cabins can be set up individually or integrated into existing production lines. Optimised technology ensures simple and convenient operation, low material consumption and the best dust removal if required.

Blast technology is suitable for a wide variety of production tasks. Use the different methods to derust, descale, deburr, roughen, consolidate or harden surfaces. Blast technology is also ideal for surface finishes: even the highest-quality materials can be processed carefully and gently. Blasting is used, for instance, for watches and jewellery, medical equipment or fashion accessories, as well as in the automotive industry.
