The vapour blasting system produces brilliant results

Adjustable degree of effectiveness and excellent blasting performance

The vapour blasting system has a higher degree of effectiveness compared to the injector blasting system. The degree of saturation of the compressed air with the respective blast agent can also be adjusted exceptionally well. The vapour blasting system is based on the direct acceleration of the blast agent out of a pressurised container. To do this, the vapour blasting pot is vented and filled from the supply with blast agent. The pot is then sealed and compressed air is introduced. A mixer valve underneath the pot adds more compressed air to the blast agent and transports it to the blast gun. The acceleration of the blast agent to the required speed is achieved through changes in the cross-section of the blast nozzle. The speed of the blast agent is significantly higher in the vapour blasting system than in the injector blasting system. The duration of the blast is determined by the volume of blast agent during blasting and the pot size of the vapour blasting system. If the blast agent in the pot is used up, a pause occurs while the next filling process takes place. Once the blast agent has been topped up, the pressure in the pot must first be built up again and then blasting can continue. If a continuous blasting process is required, two switchable pots can be installed on the vapour blasting system. While one pot is filling, work can continue with the other one. The vapour blasting system for manual use features a blast gun for free-hand blasting. The pressurised jet is controlled via a foot switch.

What the vapour blasting system can do

The high degree of effectiveness of the vapour blasting system is ideal, for example, for cleaning blasting - even badly corroded metal components can be improved efficiently with this method. This includes shot blasting, for instance: if metallic layers are sprayed onto a workpiece, the initial surface will be rough and porous. Shot blasting consolidates these layers and ensures a smooth surface. However, the vapour blasting system can also be used for shot peening of adhesions or coatings, as well as for structure blasting. Structure blasting can influence the adhesive, carrying or friction properties of a workpiece.
