Pocket Filters in Dust Separators Ensure Clean Air when Blasting

Depending on the blasting process, blasting ejects dust particles into the air – dust separators collect these particles reliably.

The technical term of "dedusting" summarises all procedures that ensure clean air after industrial processing. This includes the SIGG dust separators that collect solids from the air in their pocket filters. Industrial dust may differ greatly in volume, size and composition, depending on the material processed and the blasting method. Grain sizes may even be in the micro range. Pocket filters live up to this task, filtering even the finest particles from the air reliably. The closer the intake opening of the dust separator is to the dust source, the higher the degree of separation. For this reason, SIGG offers matching dust separators for the corresponding blasting systems. They can be placed right next to the blasting system.

Separation of particles – but how?

There are various methods to remove undesired particles form the air. In detail, these are:

  • Inertia-force separation
  • Wet dedusting
  • Filtering separators
  • Electrical separators

The SIGG dust separators are filtering separators. These are divided into surface filters and depth filters. Pocket filters are depth filters. The filter material is made of needle felt. Dust is collected reliably in the indentations of the pocket filters, while the cleaning function is preserved. The pocket filters by SIGG have a high degree of separation at good suction output. Their compact dimensions keep them very small. A rotary current motor lets the pocket filters in the SIGG dust separators work even in permanent use.
