Roughened, refined and leveled-out surfaces
The suitable blasting abrasive for optimal treatment
The blasting technology makes roughening, refining and leveling-out of surfaces possible. Depending on the system, it also serves for de-scaling, matting, de-burring, calendering, lapping and cleaning of workpieces. For its customers SIGG Strahltechnik is the competent partner for blasting systems, superfinishing vibrators, dust collectors and blasting abrasives.
Blasting abrasives from airy to liquid up to solid
Depending on the application and the blasting abrasive, either air pressure or liquids can be used as media. Using air pressure means dry-blasting, using liquids means wet- or sludge blasting. Moreover, systems are differentiated according to the injector- and pressure blasting technique. High blasting performance requires the injector blasting technique. The blasting material, located in the collecting hopper, is sucked up by the injector air generated by the gun, before being further accelerated by the supplied compressed air inside the body of the gun. <
Chamber for blasting abrasives
In systems with vapour blasting technique the blasting abrasive is filled into a pressure vessel. Arranged at the bottom of the vessel hopper is the chamber used for adjusting the blasting abrasive compressed air mixture. The compressed air conveys the blasting abrasive to the blasting nozzle. The wet blasting technique is used in order to obtain particularly fine surfaces, which are especially desired for watches, jewelry as well as in the medical technology. The blasting abrasive and water are stirred up in the vessel and then blasted under pressure at the workpiece by means of the injector action of the blasting gun. To boost the pressure or the volume flow, an additional sludge conveyor pump is incorporated in the blasting system.
