Dedusting improves the visibility of the workpieces

Optimised working conditions and excellent cleaning performance thanks to SIGG dust separators

Dust is an inevitable consequence of blasting workpieces with a dry blasting process. Coarse and fine particles of workpiece and blasting medium are released by the energy involved in the blasting process and swirl around in the blasting cabin. For targeted dedusting, these particles are extracted and collected in the highly efficient filters of the dust separators from SIGG.

Reliable dedusting with highly efficient filters

Blasting plants must be equipped with a reliable dedusting technology in order to keep the working environment free of dusts and to improve visibility within the blasting cabin during the blasting process. Dust separators generate a vacuum in the blasting cabin and ensure dedusting of the extracted air: in the pre-separator, the heavy dust particles are captured first and deposited. A dust drawer allows this dust to be collected, removed and eliminated. The remaining dust removal takes place via pocket filters that are equipped with needled felt. This is where the fine dust is deposited, and the resulting clean air is automatically returned to the workroom. The pocket filters for dedusting are especially efficient and compact and, thanks to a sturdy three-phase motor, deliver outstanding reliability even in constant operation.

Tap the filter or automatic cleaning

The filters can be cleaned manually or automatically, depending on the system. The manual tapping device is actuated via a lever and is used as required. The high-performance cartridge filters, which are used for the dedusting of larger and automatic systems, can be made even more efficient through the upstream use of cyclone separators. The cartridge filters are not cleaned manually, but instead are cleaned with a blast of compressed air: to do this, blasts of compressed air are released via a solenoid valve from a separate compressed air tank. Depending on the requirements, the cleaning intervals can be adapted and defined using a time relay.
